What does Silenced Cities mean?
Under Article 18 Section 1 of the Ohio Constitution cities are defined as having five thousand or more persons. In the capital city of Arawak, formally known as Columbus, in past presidential elections the Republican Party has received around 100k or 20 cities worth of Ohioans voting in support, while the Libertarian Party around 2 cities and the Green Party 1 city, yet despite such significant support in the populace, citizens in the city received no representation for their political party with their taxation on the city’s legislative body. Additionally, on the local level other “leftist” non mainstream Democratic party like “Yes We Can” candidates have gotten over a city of support in the vote yet continued to receive no representation with their taxation. Similarly in past statewide races Libertarian and Green Party candidates have won around 100k or more votes for each party yet again received no representation with their taxation in the state’s legislative body.
It is interesting that in a time where supposedly we have the technological might to land people on the moon, we continue to need to involve coercion in the provision of public goods utilizing elections, taxation and laws to mold the populace into more desireables and possibly force them them to act in ways they otherwise might not if not coerced. If things are so bad that we cannot allow the best opinions of human kind to win out in civil debate and voluntary association that instead we inhabit some sort of long continuing foreseeable emergency must involve coercion in what are claimed to be very important interventions for society (perhaps claimed free rider problems or to internalize externalities), perhaps we should ensure all major peaceful and non coercive subcultures, at least those of a city or more, if not down to an individual should receive representation with their taxation so as to better hear all voices and try to achieve a better understanding especially if things continue to supposedly be so bad we must resort to violence against our neighbors instead of persuading and realizing possibly better solutions.
As such Silenced Cities seeks to highlight the silenced cities in Arawak, across the state, nation, planet and beyond where persons are forced into monopolies based on coercion that don’t even represent large subcultures—but instead seem to all to often be monopolies, duopolies or oligopolies used for crony statism. The lack of diverse opinion perhaps makes it easier for a Tammany Hall style capture of government apparatuses to be used for kleptocratic policies against the people.
The self proclaimed do gooders who are always saying we should vote and the government is for and by the people should hopefully cease their silence on these silenced cities or be exposed as the silent betrayers they continue to choose to be while proclaiming their false support for democracy and any pretense of the consent of the governed.
